sOPEP Study

Calgary-Based Study

About This Study

The sOPEP Study is evaluating tailored education and real-time feedback during OPEP therapy using a connected medical device that reports adherence through a mobile app. The study is being conducted at the University of Calgary and uses the Aerobika OPEP device.

Eligibility Criteria

Inclusion Criteria

  • Age 18+
  • Diagnosis of bronchiectasis
  • Able and willing to use the Aerobika device (OPEP)
  • Able to attend three in-person visits during the study
  • Have a smartphone or be willing to be provided one to download the app

Exclusion Criteria

  • Pulmonary exacerbation in the preceding 30 days
  • Hospitalization or emergency room visit in the preceding 30 days
  • Any contraindication to OPEP
  • Clinically significant cognitive impairment
  • Physical limitations preventing use of the Aerobika device
